Frequently Asked Questions

What metadata is removed?

EXIF data (GPS location, camera model), author name, creation/edit dates, comments, device info, software used, and any other embedded metadata that could identify you or reveal sensitive information.

Why should I remove metadata?

Metadata can accidentally reveal your location (GPS in photos), when you created files, what device you use, and your name. Removing it protects your privacy before sharing files publicly or online.

Are my files sent to a server?

No. All processing happens entirely in your browser. Files never leave your device — verify in DevTools Network tab.

What file types are supported?

Images (PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP) and PDFs are fully supported. Metadata removal is best-effort for other formats.

Does this affect image quality?

No. Removing metadata doesn't change the visual content — only the hidden data is removed. Quality and dimensions stay the same.
